Weekly Update - Notifications, Fixed & Password Drama

Hey hunters — back again with a quicker update this time (don’t get used to it, I’m unpredictable).

This week’s mostly been backend spring cleaning — chopping out old code, reorganizing project files, and trying to make the place feel less like a digital junk drawer. Nothing super flashy, but it clears the path for the next batch of features without me screaming internally.

🔐 Login / Register / Reset Glow-Up

I gave the login, registration, and password reset forms a fresh coat of paint so they finally match the rest of the site — and don’t look like they were a completely separate part of the site. A few more things that need a quick tidy but we're getting there!

Also: turns out the password reset flow was mostly working… except for the part where it actually resets your password. Email? Sent. Token? Valid. Form? “lol no.” That’s fixed now. Until it breaks again no doubt in the future but we have sturdy bug squashing boots. On that note

🪲 Bug Fixes & General Chaos

A few annoying things were squashed. If something suddenly works better, it wasn’t luck. If something suddenly broke, that also wasn’t luck. The changelog has the gritty stuff. I now some of you like to see what's really changing around here.

🔔 Notifications System? Live. Quietly.

Oh yeah, speaking of major features — the user notification system is now live. You'll see that you now have a bell and notification box next to your profile menu at the top of the site now.

It’ll keep you posted on things like:

Comments on your bounties
Replies and approvals
Level ups
Mod actions
Probably a bunch more I’ve already forgotten I coded

This is the thing that’ll hook into all the other major systems going forward — so expect it to get even beefier soon. But for now, it works. It lives. It breathes. And it probably knows too much.

📬 Up Next: Private Messaging

Now that the codebase isn’t a tangled mess of regrets, I’m diving into user-to-user private messages.
They’ll be inbox-style (not live chat), with:

Unlimited messages for premium users
Daily cap for free users
No attachments for now
And yes, the ability to delete the “u up?” message you regret sending

This will become a really important feature that will allow users to coordinate trophy hunting and or boosting together so it's crucial to get this up and running, and that's what we're going to do!
